EDIT Set to Begin First-in-Human Study in Hypercholesterolemia
Editas Medicine announced approval to initiate the Strive phase I/II clinical study of EDIT-401, an investigational in vivo gene-editing therapy for heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) in Australia. The single-dose therapy demonstrated approximately 90% or greater reductions in atherogenic lipoproteins in preclinical primate studies. Patient dosing is planned for 2026 with initial safety data expected in Q1 2027.
