With silver trading at $60.73 per ounce, volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) systems in northern Canada are attracting exploration attention. Honey Badger Silver reported high-grade polymetallic samples from its Yava Project in Nunavut, while established operators like Hudbay, Eldorado Gold, and B2Gold are expanding production at existing VMS mines in Canada's base-metal camps.

Eldorado Gold announced that its Skouries copper-gold mine in northern Greece has been designated as a Strategic Project under the European Union's Critical Raw Materials Act. The designation recognizes the mine's importance in supporting Europe's domestic supply chains for critical raw materials and energy transition. Skouries, one of Europe's largest new copper-gold mines, recently began operations and is expected to produce for approximately 20 years, supporting hundreds of jobs and representing over US$2 billion in investment.
